Just a space to drop some of my thoughts and ideas... and maybe share stuff, don't know... looks like a good idea anyway...Remember, this blog reflects my own thoughts and not those of my employer.

Summer Ball "Edinburgh Tango Society"
The ETS Summer Ball - "Just Dance" Weekend
Saturday 28th - Sunday 29th May 2005
Dancing from 8:30pm - 2:30am
South Hall, Pollock Halls, Dalkeith Road
[MAP]
This year the Summer Ball is at the end of May, and takes place in the new hall at Pollock Halls, where the last winter ball/Bailongo show happened. Music for the evening will be provided by guest DJ Garrit Fleischmann from Frankfurt.
"Just Dance" Weekend
As well as the ball there will be dancing on Saturday and Sunday from 12-5pm, and the Sunday milonga from 7-11pm. That makes nearly 24 hours of dancing over the weekend. Why "Just Dance"? Because that is all there is this weekend - no shows, no classes to attend - Just come and dance all weekend at one of the UK's largest and longest tango dance events this year.
Tickets
£10 for the Ball alone. £16 for all the events -Saturday Ball, Saturday and Sunday afternoon salons, and Sunday evening milonga (brunch food £3 extra each day).
Reserve tickets from here or buy them at the milongas and classes (see Siobhan, Toby, Jessie or Brian).

Paying the cost to be the boss... Great Song, innit?
B.B. King
recording of 1967
from
King Of The Blues 4 CD Box Set (MCA MCAD4-10677)
You act like you to don't wanna listen,
when I'm talking to you
You think you outta be my baby,
anything you wanna do
You must be crazy, baby,
you just gotta be out of your mind
As long as payin' I'm the bills, woman,
I'm payin' the cost to be the boss
I'll drink if I wanna,
and play a little poker too
Don't you say nothing to me,
as long as I'm taking care of you
As long as I'm working baby,
and payin' all the bills
I don't want no mouth from you,
about the way I'm supposed to leave
You must be crazy, woman,
you just gotta be out of your mind
As long as I'm footin' the bills,
I'm paying the cost to be the boss
Now that you got me,
you act like you are a shame
You don't act like my woman,
you just using my name
I tell you I'll gonna handle all the money,
and I don't wanna no back talk
'Cause if you don't like the way I'm doing,
just pick up your things and walk
You must be crazy baby,
you just gotta be out of your mind
As long as paying the bills,
I'm paying the cost to be the boss
Funny Answering machine messages
Funny Answering Machine Messages...
Roses are red, some willows weep, please leave your message, after the beep
"Hi, we aren't in at the moment, if you are trying to sell us something please start speaking now and hang up at the beep, everyone else start speaking at the beep and hang up when you've finished."
I'm not here, so say goodbye, or leave a message, and I'll reply
Like Barney (the purple dinosaur):
I'll call you, cause you called me. We're the ______ family. So leave your
name and number at the tone. Sorry that we're not at home.
"Hi, you have reached the Borg collective. Please leave your name and star system and we'll assimilate you as soon as we can."
"Hey guess who this is? You guessed it. Guess what you have to do now? you
guessed it. Guess what's next? You guessed it..."
Roses are red, violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet, and so are you
The roses have wilted, the violets are dead,
The sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head
The roses stink, sorta like sheep
But leave your name, number, and message after the beep
The roses are molding, the violets are rotten
And I might call you back, if I haven't forgotten

Funny
Well, you never know, it might come a good job out of it ;)
Talking about Sandwiches....
Talking about snacks: the first association is a sandwich, and the origin is as British as it could be. The name refers to the Earl of Sandwich who lived 1718 to 1792.
The British have always been betting and gambling buffs. It's in accordance with their idea of sports and sportsmanship - basically a British philosophy.
But the Earl of Sandwich overdid it even by British standards. During his gambling days, taking meals was considered by him as highly unwelcome interruptions. He therefore invented a kind of meal not requiring him to exchange the gambling table for the dinning table: sandwiches.
HA!

Browsing on the web, I found a few other good resources, so I added them to the link section opn the left >>>>
Besides, I found some other stuff which is interesting:

DSpace?
I'm currently working with it... it is quite nice, and seems to be more stable than other implementations.
Playing with it a workmate show me www.plone.org, it is amazing, based on Zope (Python) it doesnt even needs a web server, it just the CM you have dream of, and it gives you enough flexibility...
I'll try to keep this up top date.
Another place...
Probably you will need someone to invite you (you always need someone to invite you for a party...), but one you are in... oh, boy! there are so many cultures (mainly brazilians and someone else) that every post become a discussion... very nice...
Let me know if you want to come to play...
Cheers!
